Satoru,
Today was my last day at TVA and I was regretfully unable to say my final good-bye to you in person as you were out with the plane. Perhaps it was for the best as I am not very good at saying farewell, and perhaps this is a better forum to say all the things I couldn't have there.
Flying with you guys has been a wonderful, educational, humbling, and exhilarating experience that will stay with me forever. Thank you so much for all of your time and effort and, least of all, your patience. Your instruction, your expertise, and your continual efforts have allowed me to realize my life-long ambition of becoming a pilot and I remain forever in your debt.
It's been a difficult journey, but well worth while, and words cannot express how grateful I am toward you guys for providing me with the forum for fulfilling my goal. I have long regretted not completing my pilot studies that I began at the age of 15 as all of life's intricacies distracted me from my focus and interfered in this goal. But, along came Guam and TVA and some 20 years later I was reintroduced to the joys of flying and, through a confluence of good timing and good luck, I came to your school ready to learn and complete my certification.
I would like to thank you, Miwa, and Toshi for providing me with the most superb instruction available, the most immaculately maintained aircraft imaginable, and the patience and knowledge to see me through this difficult process. The standards at which you maintain your aircraft, your offices, and your level of instruction has been remarkable to me and has been the reason I have been able to proceed as far as I have. The process of learning to fly can be nerve-racking and even scary sometimes as you are well aware, but knowing that I was always sitting beside an incredibly competent and well trained instructor in an aircraft that was maintained to the highest standards provided me with the comfort level that was needed to persevere through my trepidations and continue on my journey.
I have learned much in the last 13 months, not only of airplanes and flying, but of myself as well, and I thank you. The fire is lit, and I will continue on flying for many years to come. Where I will end up I don't know, but at least now I'll be doing it from the left seat!
I wish you well, I wish you good luck, and, as always, good flying!
Chris P
